Our approach
Planexa Task stores workspace data on your device by default. Optional cloud features use the services configured for the app deployment. This policy describes the data flows implemented by the app; the providers' own terms and privacy policies also apply when you use their services.
Data stored on your device
Tasks and task attachments are stored in browser IndexedDB. Preferences, reminder settings, account-session details, and other app state may be stored in browser storage. This data is specific to the browser profile and device; it is not automatically available on another device. Clearing browser site data can remove locally stored information. The local App Lock is a password gate, not encryption.
Accounts and cloud services
If you sign in with email and password, the sign-in form sends those credentials over the network to the app's authentication endpoint, which forwards authentication to Firebase. Firebase processes your email address, account identifier, and authentication/session data. The app also uses your account identifier to keep local workspace data separated between accounts.
The sign-in endpoint applies IP- and account-based attempt limits to help prevent abuse. Sign-in requires an internet connection.
Cloud sync is optional and requires a signed-in account and a deployment with a cloud backend configured. When enabled, task data and related attachment metadata are sent to that backend; with Supabase configured, attachment files are stored in its private storage. Cloud providers process data under their own privacy terms. If cloud sync is not enabled, tasks remain local. Export and backup downloads are made by your browser and are not automatic cloud backups.
Offline use
The installed app can use its service-worker cache to load supported pages and local data while offline. Cloud authentication and synchronization require a network connection. Changes made offline may wait locally for a configured cloud sync to resume; availability of that sync depends on the deployment and account configuration.
Notifications
Task reminders are checked by the app while a Planexa Task page is open; they are not guaranteed when the app is closed, the device is asleep, or the browser suspends the page. If you grant browser notification permission, reminder text may appear in system notifications visible on your device. You can disable reminders in Settings or revoke notification permission in your browser settings. Reminder preferences and reminder history are stored locally.
Retention and your choices
- You can edit your profile and preferences in the app.
- You can export or import a local data file from Settings. Keep exported files secure; they may contain workspace data.
- You can clear local app data from Settings or your browser. This does not necessarily delete a copy already synced to a cloud provider.
- You can disable cloud sync and sign out. To request deletion of data stored by a configured cloud provider, contact the app support address below.
- You can disable reminders in Settings and manage notification permission through your browser or device.
Service providers
Firebase is used for account authentication and may support configured Firebase features. Supabase is used for cloud sync only when it is configured and enabled. The app also loads web fonts from Google Fonts when a network connection is available. These providers may receive technical request information needed to deliver their services; consult their privacy notices for details.
